I could never keep up with all the amazing pictures that have gone through my hands in the last few weeks. Here is but a sample:

I love Christmastime! It gets a little crazy at the studio, but I get to see all the big kids who only come once a year, and we get whole families to take their pictures together.

Always wanted that cute “Christmas morning” shot of kids in their PJs, but didn’t have the matching PJs? I’ve got them! Cute little fitted unisex pajamas with red and white stripes in sizes 2T through 12! Elizabeth is modeling them  on the left, one of my long-time clients are showing it on their card.

And is your child naughty? Or nice? You get to pick with the new props!

I have lots of new card designs, but mainly I’m custom designing many new cards based on what we get at your photo shoot. Come with your ideas, favorite cards, and color schemes and we’ll create something just for you!

Many of you know that Elizabeth spent several days at the children’s hospital this year, waiting on her diagnosis of heterotopic gray matter, a congenital brain defect. She’s doing so well, and we were so grateful for her amazing care there. I decided this holiday season to do something extra special to raise money for their special services, the things outside of basic health care that make the hospital such a healing place for children, who I wish never had to go through painful tests and fear.

So I created the most beautiful scene imaginable with trees, a custom-painted snow forest, and my wonderful sleigh. My dad is delighted to play the role of Santa for the weekend, and we’ll take a wonderful series of images that will make incredible holiday cards.

A $50 donation reserves your slot.

Should you be unable to make it that day, the donation will apply toward a rescheduled regular sitting. Baby Plan members may participate on an add-a-session basis so that the hospital can still get their donation. 

Images will be posted to a special online gallery for ordering. Additional items that benefit the hospital will be available for purchase, as well as special discount packages and deals!

It’s time to do those outdoor family photo shoots! This year’s special runs from Oct. 16 until Oct. 25.

This year I will have TWO outdoor locations!

From Oct. 16 to Oct 24, I will be at Boulder Park just a few blocks from the studio in West Austin. I’ve been doing shoots here for years, and it is wonderfully green, always quiet, and makes for a very easy photo shoot.

And for Sunday, Oct. 25, I will make all my north people happy by doing photographs in Old Settler’s Park in Round Rock! The rustic buildings, old tractor, and amazing trees make for beautiful shots.

Available time slots are below. The sitting fee is the same as it has been for many years, $95, and it includes a proof portfolio that is yours to keep. These will come by mail a week or so after your shoot. Your packet will include sample holiday cards in case you are interested in those.

The E family has been coming a long time, and I’ve gotten the privilege of taking many maternity and newborn shots for them.

Mom brought in the whole crew for her maternity pictures for baby number eight. We thought it would be fun to have them all wear white t-shirts and put handprints on mom’s belly as a keepsake for the new member when he arrives!

Little K is getting a baby sister! I’ve photographed the H family since their first maternity image. It will be fun to see how K enjoys her new family member.

We realized just how long the J family had been coming for pictures when the mom called, upset because her oldest daughter’s picture had fallen off the wall and in the resulting crash, the 8×10 had gotten sliced up by the glass.

I told her not to worry, we’d find the file and run a new one. But the image was from 2001! Her newborn shot!

The J children come every summer to update their pictures. I got to use my brand-new drop with them, as well as capture their very sweet relationship.

I hadn’t seen the L family in ages, although she did call last year to say she’d had a baby, and needed to bring her in! She finally got here and what a wonderful family this had grown into!

It’s been a baby boom this summer!

Baby N is the little cousin to one of my recent Baby Plan graduates, so it’s his turn now! We can’t wait to photograph them together.

Baby N was a calm and collected during his session, happy and alert despite only being a few weeks old.

Welcome to the world, little one!

Precious R has two older brothers, so she’s a busy girl. I’ve been photographing her family since her oldest brother was a baby, so I’ve seen all of them grow and grow!

We had great fun playing with hats. Sepia tint photos are very beautiful to show how our babies are turning into little people.
